Google Career Certificates

Through five sequential courses, this certificate program helps beginner students prepare for jobs in IT support. Students learn about the theories behind information technologies and gain practical experience working with networks and cloud computing, operating systems, systems administration, and digital security, including algorithms and encryption. Students also develop skills in troubleshooting and customer service to help users solve technical problems andcreate a professional portfolio of their projects. By the end of the course, graduates will earn a certificate from Google and have the preparation necessary to take the CompTIA A+ Core exams for industry-standard certification. Graduates may also be eligible for 12 college credits through the course's American Council on Education approval.

This series of six courses helps junior IT professionals develop the automation skills for higher-level IT support work. Students learn to code in Python and work with Git and GitHub as they develop advanced troubleshooting and debugging skills. They will also gain practical experience in manage configurations of both physical and virtual machines at scale, using APIs in the automation of tasks, and working with regular expressions and object-oriented programming. Graduates develop a professional portfolio of work and earn a certificate in IT Automation with Python from Google.

These eight sequential courses prepare beginner data analysts for careers in the field. Students start by learning about data and the kinds of problems data analysis can solve, then develop skills in SQL in order to extract, store, and clean data for analysis. Students also gain experience with data visualization and programming with R for data analysis. In the final course, students develop a data analysis case study for their capstone project and benefit from lessons in job hunting before they graduate with a certificate from Google.

In six courses, beginner students master the principles of project management, including Agile and Scrum. Students learn about the project lifecycle, including project planning, initiation, and execution, and they also develop familiarity with different styles of leadership and project management roles, such as change, risk, and stakeholder management. Students gain experience with business writing and industry-standard project management tools and develop skills in strategic thinking. By the end of the course, graduates earn a certificate from Google and accrue more than 100 hours of project management education that can be applied toward Project Management Institution certifications.

A sequence of seven courses in this program train beginners for careers in UX design. Students gain familiarity with the UX design process and how to perform UX research to understand and empathize with users. Then, students learn to create wireframes and prototypes with Figma and design responsive websites with Adobe XD. By the end of the course, graduates will have designed a digital capstone project for social good and prepared application materials and a portfolio of work for their career search, earning a Google certificate.

After studying this program, students will be prepared for work in project management. Students learn about project lifecycles, organizational structures, and chain management before digging into project initiation, planning, and execution. Then, students discover the principles of Agile project management, including Scrum. Students complete the course with a capstone project and a Google certificate of completion.
