After studying this seminar, students of finance with have an expanded toolkit to power their work in Microsoft Excel. The class introduces VLOOKUP as well as IF statements, TRIM, and Concatenate. Students also learn to work with static and dynamic formulas, validate and filter their data, and add conditional formatting. As they work through the class, students follow along in the provided project file.

Designed for beginners, this course introduces accounting through financial spreadsheets. Students work with balance sheets, cash flow statements, and income statements as they learn cash and accrual accounting and useful equations for their work. The course demonstrates working with T-Accounts, credit and debit, and topline revenue. As they work through the course, students can complete quizzes and activity sheets to practice their new accounting knowledge.

This seminar introduces students to the world of investing in stock markets and mutual funds. The class starts with practical advice about safely investing before discussing critical concepts such as shares, dividends, and compounding and non-compounding interest. Students also learn about market capitalization, index funds, and personal finance. Students are encouraged to invest $10-25 dollars to participate in an investment tracking project.
