Nuclio Digital School has the goal of accelerating and optimizing student training for the digital workforce, replacing slow and outdated MBA degrees with rapid tech master’s programs. The school grew out of Nuclio Venture Builder, a startup incubator founded by serial entrepreneur Carlos Blanco, who has also established sibling businesses Nuclio Data Research, Nuclio Talent, and Nuclio Corporate Venturing. In establishing Nuclio Digital School, Blanco partnered with CEO and co-founder Jared Gil, who now has more than a decade of experience in digital marketing and business and elearning. The school ran its first class in 2018 in Barcelona. In recent years, Nuclio Digital School has been growing. Gil reported that business expanded in 2020 and 2021, recruiting more students and more employees. In 2021, Nuclio Digital School received €50,000 from its parent organization to distribute in scholarships, and Sabadell Bank invested €1 million towards a long-term partnership with the school.

School Locations

Nuclio Digital School’s first and primary location is in Barcelona, in the Eixample district, three blocks from the world-famous Sagrada Familia. The school characterizes Barcelona as the tech capital of Europe and offers students the opportunity to expand their education at Campus Pier 01, the center of Barcelona’s tech industry. A second campus is located in Madrid, in the Salamanca district, just two blocks away from the many parks and plazas surrounding the Crystal Palace. What Classes Are Available?

Nuclio Digital School offers eight different accelerated master’s programs for future digital workers. Courses include Digital Product Management, Data Science, UI/UX Design, Cybersecurity, Digital Traffic Management, Digital Talent Management, Full Stack Development, and Digital Marketing.

Students in the Cybersecurity program learn the fundamentals of information security, including security architectures and infrastructures, and forensic analysis. Data Science students develop familiarity with data analytics, data visualization, machine learning, and artificial intelligence while using Python and SQL. The Full Stack Development course gives students training in MongoDB, ExpressJS, React, and Node.js as well as project management skills.

UX/UI Design students learn about UX research and prototyping as well as UI design and visual design broadly.

Students in the Digital Talent Management class get a full overview of the human resources landscape for tech startups, including talent acquisition, benefits, development, labor laws, and Agile and analytics for HR professionals. Digital Traffic Management students specialize in search engine optimization and search engine marketing, social media marketing, analytics, and artificial intelligence. The Digital Marketing curriculum adds instruction in ecommerce.

Class Formats

All Nuclio Digital School courses are part-time, typically on two or more weekday evenings and sometimes on weekends, for 16 weeks. Four courses are taught in English, including the English-only Digital Marketing course, while the rest are all available in Spanish. English classes are delivered live online only, but Spanish classes can be taken in-person at either of the school’s two campuses, live online, or in a hybrid format. The Nuclio Digital School curriculum combines both theoretical training and practical experience in small class sizes. All students apply their new skills in hands-on projects, and the Full Stack Web Development course simulates a real web development workplace for students to develop projects just as they would on the job. Most courses conclude with students’ developing their final projects and presenting them, sometimes in a juried competition with industry professionals.
