What Classes Are Available?

Johns Hopkins Engineering Bootcamps offers classes in data analytics and coding, and students earn a certificate of completion upon successful graduation from their respective programs. Classes are offered part-time. They are facilitated by an experienced instructor, and teaching assistants are assigned to classes for additional instructional support. The course also equips students to optimize web applications and incorporates technologies such as React, progressive web applications (PWAs), and MongoDB.

The coding bootcamp is designed to prepare students to perform full stack web development in the workplace. The course teaches the foundation of web development and covers coaching languages such as HTML, JavaScript, and CSS as well as the command line and API consumption. On the technical side, the course prepares students to build full stack web applications, querying data from MySQL, and how to work with servers.

The data analytics bootcamp prepares students to work with, analyze, and visualize data for various fields and purposes. In this course, students learn Excel, foundational statistics, Python programming, databases, front end web visualization, Tableau for business intelligence, and advanced topics like Hadoop and machine learning.

Class Formats

The courses offered through Johns Hopkins Engineering Bootcamps are offered virtually and provide a low student-teacher ratio. The virtual classroom includes live online instruction, discussions, lab work, and portfolio projects. Students will need access to a computer to access the virtual classroom; however, there is no need to purchase textbooks or other materials, as the school provides all necessary course materials.

Students also gain access to live office hours, quarterly project demo days, access to classroom recordings, and other resources.

Admissions Process

Johns Hopkins Engineering Bootcamps has an admissions project that interested applicants must complete to receive consideration for admissions. Prospective students should contact the school to request an initial interview. Applicants who are considered beyond the initial interview will be invited to take additional assessments for further consideration.

To be eligible for admissions, applicants should be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or GED. No prior experience is needed for admissions, and the school provides pre-course materials for students to review before the start of class.

Tuition costs $10,995 and is subject to change. Johns Hopkins also offers scholarships and payment plans to eligible applicants.

Johns Hopkins Engineering Bootcamps provides a dedicated career services team to work with students in preparing for and navigating the job search experience. While enrolled, students gain access to a Career Materials Team that offers assistance with resumes, portfolios, GitHub, and social media profiles. Students also work with a Career Director for one-one assistance with career goals and searches. Additionally, career services include career coaching, soft skills training, and interview preparation.
