At Code Fellows, there is a sequence of four levels of courses specializing in a chosen tech field: Software Development or Ops and Cybersecurity.

What Classes Are Available?

Code Fellows offers two tracks to a career in the tech industry: Software Development and Ops and Cybersecurity. Both career curriculums offer a sequence of four course levels: 100 Beginner, 200 Foundations, 300 Intermediate, and 400 Advanced. The school also offers some 500-level Professional Development courses for those already working in the tech industry who want to add to their skill set.

Code Fellows also has a rigorous job placement program with as many as 93% of graduates getting hired after graduation.

Class Formats

All of Code Fellows classes are taught online. The school offers some introductory courses, such as Code 102: Intro to Software Development, as self-paced courses that students can complete independently.

Code Fellows understands that you might have a busy life which is why it offers all online courses with several different schedules. One option is the Daytime Immersive which is a week-long, daily, live course with peer collaboration. Another schedule offered is the Nights & Weekends program. This track enables those who may be working or in school the chance to become a coder. This two-week course has live instruction on weeknights and all-day Saturday sessions. The final choice is the Self-Paced Online option. This option is ideal for individuals who want to learn on their own schedule. Students get access to recorded lectures, live chats with classmates, and screen-share personalized feedback on assignments from instructors.

Code Fellows also offers online tutoring for anyone who wants to improve their tech skills. These sessions are open to anyone and attendees are not required to be enrolled in regular courses to participate.

Admissions Process

Code Fellows doesn’t require you to start from the very beginning: if you already have coding skills, you’re welcome to test in at whichever level feels most appropriate for your goals. This means that the admissions process varies based on which level you choose to begin.

Pricing & Payment Options

Code Fellows’ course pricing varies based on the level of course you are taking. Prices range from $100 for day-long introductory courses to $12,000 for advanced-level courses. Code Fellows also offers generous scholarship and financing options. Its Pay-As-You-Go plan allows students to pay tuition over the length of the course: for example, making nine weekly payments on a nine-week course.

Given its commitment to diversity, Code Fellows also offers scholarships for students who are women, BIPOC, military veterans, unemployed, changing careers, people who have lost their jobs due to COVID-19, people making a difference in their local community, or recent college graduates. Through its Diversity Scholarship, Code Fellows offers one full-tuition scholarship to a Black American in every cohort.

They also have multiple financing options, including Income Share Agreements (paying for tuition from future coding income), Early-Bird and Course Bundle discounts, more traditional loans, Washington State Worker Retraining Program, GI Bill, and other options.

To ensure money isn’t an obstacle, Code Fellows has Admissions Counselors who are available seven days a week to help students select the best financing option.

Career Support Services

Code Fellows integrates career coaching into its courses. Students will receive “over 40 hours of instructions and assignments” to help them build a network, become strong team members, perform targeted job searches, develop professional materials, and maintain professional etiquette. Code Fellows also offers Partner Power Hours with guests from the tech industry to assist students in gaining professional contacts before graduation.

Students who graduate from advanced-level courses at Code Fellows will complete a qualifying interview meant to simulate the job assessment practices of the tech industry. Students will receive training for this interview, which will help them become more competitive in the job market.

Alumni Outcomes

According to Course Report, 100% of the students who enroll at Code Fellows graduate, and 98% of job-seeking graduates have found in-field employment. According to a third-party survey, 92% of Code Fellows graduates have found in-field employment.

These graduates currently hold job titles like Software Engineer, Software Development Engineer, Web Developer, Software Developer, Front End Developer, and more. The median annual salary reported by these in-field full-time graduates is $75,000.
