Welcome back to the CAD Teacher VDCI video course content for the BIM 321 course Introduction to Revit MEP. In this next video, I'm going to go ahead and let's do the same thing that we did for the first level, for lighting plan, but we need to go ahead and do it for the second level to create our circuits and our different panel loads. So I'm going to go to my level 2 ceiling plan, I'm going to go ahead, as you can see we don't have any switches or anything showing right now, so I'm going to go ahead and actually go to my view range, edit my view range, I'm going to go ahead and change the cut plane to 4 feet, apply, and okay.

There we are, we need to go ahead and hide some things here real quick, I'm going to go ahead and select one GFCI outlet, right click, hide and view category, and there we are. I'm going to go ahead and start off up here, so I'm going to go ahead and select these items here, power, select panel, let's take that to LP2. I'm going to select here, power, select panel, LP2, I can also go ahead and create my switch system, switch, select switch, pick here, here and here, switch, select switch, pick here.

I'm going to go ahead, select all three, power, select panel, LP2, and as you notice, you may notice that LP1 is gone, that's because LP1 is full, LP2, I want to go ahead and select just the lights, switch, select switch, there we go, here, here and here, power, select panel, LP2, select just the lights, switch, there, oops, I didn't get the actual switch, so switch systems, select switch, there, so now if I tab over it, you can see that the switch system, if I select both of those, switch system is going directly to that, here, here, here, power, I'm going to select panel, LP2, select just the lights, switch, select switch, there we go, here, here, here, power, select panel, LP2, select the light fixtures, switch, select switch, there we go, beautiful, when I come down here, I want to go ahead, I'm going to select here, here, here, here and here, I'm going to go ahead and make those and actually I'm going to go ahead and actually remove this light, don't really need it, I'm going to go ahead and select here, here, here, here and here, I'm going to go select the switch closest to the door, I'm going to go power, select panel, and let's go ahead and take that to LP3, there we are, I want to select those light fixtures again, I'm going to go switch and remember we can only have one switch per system so I'm just going to select one of the switches, here, here, here, here, I'm going to select the second switch next to the door or the switch in the middle of those three, power, select panel, LP3, I'm going to select those again, I'm going to go ahead now and let's go to switch, select switch and there we go, I want to go ahead and select my two wall washers and the last there, power, select panel, LP3, I'm going to go ahead and select just the wall washers again, switch, select switch, there we go, I'm going to come up here, pick here, here, and here, and the switch closest to the door, I'm going to go ahead and go power, select panel, let's go LP2, I'm going to go select those three again, hit escape to deselect the circuit, there we are, switch, select switch, right there, here, here, and here, and here, power, select panel, and LP2 is now full, so I'm going to go ahead and put this on LP3, if I needed to make that change, let's say I want to make that and we'll go over that here in a second, so I'm going to go LP3 with this one, I want to go ahead and select here, here, and here, I'm going to go ahead and go switch, select switch, right there, okay, so now what I want to go ahead and do is I'm going to tab into that first one that we did and I'm going to go disconnect panel, and I'm going to disconnect the panel and then I'm going to select another panel and select this one to actually LP3 because we have more room there, okay, now I'm going to go ahead, select here, and the last switch, power, I'm going to go

ahead and select panel, take that to LP3 because I know LP2 is almost full, I want to go ahead now, select just the lights, switch, select switch, and there we are, last one here, pick, pick, pick, and the switch, power, select panel, let's go LP3, going to go ahead, select just the lights again, go switch, select switch, there we are, going to go ahead and select these four lights, and the switch, power, select panel, LP3, going to hit escape, select the lights again, go to switch, select switch, there we go, going to go ahead and pick these four light fixtures here, and the switch that I want to tab into, power, select panel, LP3, I'm going to go ahead and select just those light fixtures again, going to go switch, select switch, there we are, there we go, almost there, power, I want to go ahead and select panel, let's take it to LP3, I'm going to go ahead and select those three lights again, switch, select switch, there we go, and one last thing is we didn't create any of the guys here either for the specific switches for these, so I'm going to go ahead and create some three-way switches, so I'm going to grab one of the three-way switches, go create similar, place one here and here, also going to go ahead, zoom down to the other stairwell, place one about here and here, there we are, going to go ahead and select all of those recessed cans, if you have that little guy in your way there, your section head, just tab to select, and this is the interesting thing about this array that we did, unfortunately, the array won't allow us to get all of our options, so I have to take that array, I have to ungroup everything, so I'm going to select everything and I have to ungroup them, the array will only last for as long as I can actually keep it together, so I'm going to go ungroup, now when I select all those lights I've selected, now I can go power, so here and here, I'm going to go power, I'm going to go select panel and LP3, there we go, I want to go ahead and select all those light fixtures again, so I'm just working my way down, I'm going to go switch, select switch, there we go, I'm going to go ahead and pick all the wall sconces now and that last switch, so I'm just holding control, I'm going to go power, select panel, LP3, perfect, I'm going to go ahead and select just the wall sconces now, I'm going to go switch system, select switch, there we go, and we're good, let's go ahead and zoom extents, control S and save the file, I know that seems kind of like a long process, but we have to set it up that way, so that we can schedule things, so that we can have our panel schedules and obviously, you know, a designer will be looking at this and going, okay, well, I'm going to run this panel here and this wiring here and this light here, I want to go ahead now, stop this video and when we come back, we'll start talking about running conduit and also running some cable trip, see you.
