Key Insights
- The article explains how to create an electrical equipment schedule by going to the View tab and selecting Schedule Quantities under the Schedules area. This can be filtered by Electrical Equipment.
- Data fields such as type, type mark for an ID, family information, panel name, and location data are added to the schedule. Additional fields like the maximum number of single pole breakers, manufacturer, and a URL can also be included.
- The schedule's appearance can be customized. This includes changing column names, updating the text, and adding stripes. All these steps contribute to a comprehensive and efficient electrical equipment schedule.
Now let's create an electrical equipment schedule. We'll start by going to our View tab, pulling down our Schedules area, and look for Schedule Quantities. We can filter by Electrical, and we're looking for Electrical Equipment, and we'll click OK.
Now we can add in our data fields. If we'd like to, we can add in our type, our type mark for an ID, then we can add in the family information, family, and then the type, type. After that, we can add in the panel name and then the apparent power for phase A, B, and C. Then we can add in some location data, like level and location.
Then how about we add in the max number of single pole breakers while we're here, and then the manufacturer, and then we can finally add in a URL, which is a website, and we'll click OK. So here we are. We don't need to group this.
We're going to just itemize every instance in this case, and we want to add in some information. So number one, A, we can call this ID, and our transformer could be called TR. It's going to update all of them.
That's OK. Switchboard could be SB for switchboards, and then we could do PB for panel boards. And then we can come across, like we did before, we could add in manufacturer, so Electrical Equipment Company, and we can give it a website, for example, www.electricalcompany.com, something like that, and we could repeat that, fill out all the information.
We can give these some other column names. For example, the family instead could be called Electrical Device or Equipment, and then instead of type, we could call it Equipment Type. We can change any column we'd like.
We can also update the appearance. We'll click on the Edit next to Appearance in our Schedule Properties, and we want to update some of the text. We can make the title 3-8, we can make the header one-quarter, and we can add those stripes.
And we'll leave the default color and click OK, and there we go. That's looking pretty good. We have a wonderful electrical equipment schedule.
