Reflected Ceiling Plan: Clearing Detail Lines and Adding Dimensions

Finalizing Level One Reflected Ceiling Plan: Removing Extra Detail Lines, Adding Dimensions, and Adjusting Visibility

Discover the process of adjusting and refining a level-one reflected ceiling plan, including removing extraneous details, running dimensions, and eliminating unnecessary visual elements. This article guides you through various modifications to ensure a clear and effective ceiling plan.

Key Insights

  • The article provides detailed steps for refining a level one reflected ceiling plan, such as removing detail lines that were used to set up locations.
  • Considerations for specific areas, such as kitchen and hazard areas, are also discussed. For example, due to a higher risk of fire, the spacing in the kitchen area must be clearly indicated.
  • It also emphasizes the importance of avoiding unnecessary visual elements, such as plumbing fixtures, which are not pertinent to the ceiling plan, resulting in a more streamlined and focused design.

Let's go ahead and do this corridor area here. Okay, I think I will get rid of all the detail lines I left behind. So select all instances in the view, and let's get rid of them.

They were just to help us set up our locations. And I will run my dimensions here. And don't forget off of the wall.

And don't forget off of the wall. Looks like I'll have to get out of the way to not have another dimension. There we go.

Let's do this row. Sometimes it can be tricky to find a spot to not have that extra dimension. Okay, and lastly, let's do our cafeteria and kitchen area.

Now, unfortunately, the kitchen area, even though it's ceiling tile, it's an ordinary hazard area, which means there's a greater chance of a fire. We do have to show the spacing there. We will be adding our dimensions.

But let's go ahead and start in this area. And we'll do one off the wall. And all of them in this room are representative of that same dimension.

Okay, we'll do the same thing here. Same for the kitchen storage area. Corridor, we'll leave alone.

It's a light hazard. Cafeteria, we'll leave alone. We do have to do this board area.

So let's set another spring of dimensions. Okay, so you can make sure you have all those dimensions in the areas that we talked about there. One more thing.

I'm not sure I want to see some of these toilets and plumbing fixtures. So there are a few things we could do. The issue is we did create our view template.

But we set the elevations different with our view range, because we weren't able to see the cafeteria. If I were to go back to our reflected ceiling plan for fire protection that we created, we're no longer seeing that. And this would also affect our level two.

So an easier thing to do, since we only have two levels we're dealing with, is we can remove it from our visibility graphics. So let's undo that. And we'll type VV.

And let's look for our plumbing fixtures. Might as well get rid of plumbing equipment as well. Now you can see the sinks and toilets are no longer visible.

It's not pertinent information for our plan. We might as well delete it. Okay, lastly, let's just add a few quick annotations and we'll be done with our level one reflected ceiling plan.
