Discover the process of grip editing for corridors and prepare for adding intersections or expanded corridors down the line. Learn how the grip features allow you to manipulate the corridor dimensions and make necessary adjustments.
Key Insights
- The grip editing process is used to prepare for the addition of intersections or the expansion of corridors in the future.
- The grips at the ends of a corridor can be manipulated to expand or shrink the corridor, which is a critical part of this preparation process.
- The process is completed by pulling the corridor away from intersections or cul-de-sacs, providing space for the creation of new corridors.
Note: These materials offer prospective students a preview of how our classes are structured. Students enrolled in this course will receive access to the full set of materials, including video lectures, project-based assignments, and instructor feedback.
So in this video, we're going to talk about doing grip editing for these corridors. It's going to be pretty simple, pretty quick, but we need to do it so that we can prepare ourselves for adding intersections later or adding some of the corridors that we're going to add in the next two videos.
So what we're going to go ahead and do is select the corridor, any of the corridors that we're working with. I'm selecting my branch corridor, and you're going to notice that there are these grips at the ends of your corridor. And so what these do is they allow you to shrink and expand your corridor.
So I'm going to pull this corridor back away from my intersection. And then I'm going to go down to this end and I'm going to grip edit it and pull it back from my cul-de-sac. I'm going to do the same thing over here.
I'm going to select my corridor. I'm going to grab this grip. I'm going to pull it away from my alignment here so that we have this area available to us to build in this new corridor here in the next video.
And then I'm going to go ahead and grab this grip and pull it back away from my cul-de-sac down here. I'm going to escape. I'm going to go ahead and save.
And then I'll meet you in the next video.
