Key Insights

  • The plumbing riser diagrams for a multi-level hotel's public bathrooms were closely examined, showcasing fixtures such as sinks, toilets, urinals, and water fountains, as well as highlighting the arrangement and specific measurements of the plumbing pipes.
  • The diagrams provide a detailed view of the hot and cold water feeds, the positioning of water sources in the walls, and the distribution of water lines in the ceiling and walls, offering clear visual aids for understanding the plumbing infrastructure.
  • The axonometric view, together with the plumbing riser diagram, offers a comprehensive presentation of the plumbing system, including information on equipment, water line pathways, and fixture connections, ultimately facilitating effective planning and problem-solving in real-world applications.

Let's look at the plumbing partial plans riser diagram. This is the public bathroom on the first level of the hotel. This is the riser diagram.

You can see that there are four sinks over here on the left. There are four sinks over here on the left. There is a little small sink, the ADA toilet, two other toilets, and three urinals, and a water fountain.

So you can see here the small sink, the three toilets, the three urinals, and the water fountain. And then here are the four sinks in the women's room. There are the four sinks.

This is another bathroom. This is its riser diagram. You can see here that we have a toilet, a sink, a toilet, a toilet, and a sink.

This toilet here is this toilet there. This sink there is the sink there. If I'm going from this area over to here, that's the same as looking from here over to here.

And then sinks on the opposite wall, sinks on the opposite wall, and here is another bathroom. So let's begin looking in this area. Again, you see the fixtures.

You see the hot and cold water feeds. You see measurements for the diameters of the plumbing pipes. You see the callout.

You see the water source in the wall. You see the keynotes. You see the callouts.

You see the water coming into the water fountain. And you see that this line continues on right there. Here's the hot water feed, the distribution to the sinks, and similarly over here on the left side.

We zoom in on the riser diagram. We see the hot and cold water. We see that the water lines are coming in through the ceiling above.

We can see the water line down here for the toilets, how it then goes up to the wall and continues on up here. So they've been putting the water lines in the ceilings and in the wall. If I zoom over here, similar information.

We have the hot and cold water lines. So I can see this is the hot water. I can follow it, look at a branch here.

It goes into the sink there. I then have the cold water. It feeds the toilets and the sinks, again feeding the cold over here and then the hot.

I look at the axonometric. Like the other, we have the equipment, cold water in for the toilet, the sinks. It goes up and over and drops down for the sinks on the other side of the room.

There are the general notes. And here we have another bathroom. You can see that we have hot water line here, branches to the hot water spigot area, cold water feeding the johns and the sinks.

This is always a nice presentation. It's very helpful to have the plan and the axonometric, or we can also call it the riser diagram, in the same drawing. So enjoy this and I will see you in our next video.
