  • The article provides a detailed examination of a construction plan for a terrace roof, which includes standard mounting walls, French doors, and a circular terrace with a radius of 24.6 feet.
  • The construction plans utilize symbols and numbering systems (e.g., 2D7.2, 3D7.2) to refer to images or details on different sheets, aiding in interpreting the design and revealing the intricate cut through the roof area.
  • The plans anchor dimensions and measurements to existing locations in the structure, such as the living room and kitchen, to provide precise guidelines for the contractors, ensuring accurate construction.

Now what I would like to do is look outside on the roof. So I'm going to get closer to the roof area. You can see that I have my standard mounting walls here.

So you can see their standard mounts. They have the poche on them. You can see that I have French doors that open to the roof.

Here you can see that I have two symbols, one says 2D7.2, another 3D7.2. What it means is that you go to the sheet of 7.2, look at image 2 or image 3. And you can see the cut through the roof in this area. If you look, there is a thick line at the end of the call detail. We have construction sections, we also have call details.

And these are areas extended from specific components in the building. So you can see that on the 7.2 page, I have image 2, image 3 and image 4. So these are, again, detailed cuts that pass through the parapet and the railing of the roof on the side of the building that says, go to that page and look at these images to learn more. Another thing we have is that you can see that I have a discontinuous line that is down here.

Here is the line of the garage area below. And I have another line here that is showing the line of the roof above. One thing that is also happening is that you can see that my terrace is circular.

You can see that I am showing that the terrace has a radius of 24.6 feet measured from this place in the living room. So, what we have done to tell the contractor is that we have said, here is the radius of the terrace. We have already shown where the center of the platform measurement is.

And we have anchored those dimensions to certain locations in the structure that already exists in the building. We have the living room, we have the kitchen, we have the platform, I have the continuous platform that is here. And again, in this area, I show once again references to other details that are elsewhere in the set.

See you in the next video.
