UI Design Certificate

The UI Design Certificate is for those seeking to learn industry-standard tools and skills for designing website interfaces. This program is best suited for:

• Those who want to get started as a UI (visual) Designer.
• Designers who are looking to gain digital design skills for designing websites and apps.
• Designers who have been away from the design field for a while and want to get back to being hands-on with today’s modern design apps, update their skills, and create an updated portfolio of design work.

In addition to 120 hours of interactive training, you will receive eight 1-on-1 mentoring sessions that can be used for career and job support, including polishing your resume, preparing for interviews, and reviewing best practices for applying to jobs. Note, however, that we don’t provide job placement (i.e. reaching out to companies on your behalf).

We provide computers (Mac or PC) equipped with the appriopriate software. Choose your operating system at checkout.

In the UI Design Portfolio Bootcamp (one of the classes in this certificate) you will be designing a website and app, so we encourage you to come with concepts (or real-life projects) in mind. If you do not have any, the instructor will help you brainstorm ideas or will provide you with project ideas you can choose from. If you want to work on your own website and app design projects, please collect as much content (text, images, logos, etc.) as you can ahead of time, and bring that to class so you’ll be ready to work!

• Students are required to complete class projects outside of class hours for the Graphic Design Portfolio Bootcamp.
• If the UI Design Portfolio Bootcamp is taken during the day, no work outside of class is required. If it’s taken at night or on weekends, some work outside of class could be required.
• Students are not required to complete any work outside of class for the Figma, Photoshop, and Illustrator classes.
• Additionally, students are encouraged to practice the skills learned in class and develop a portfolio of work.

Noble’s typical class ranges from 8–12 students, but we accept up to 20 students.

We have scheduled the certificate classes in various tracks (day, night, or weekend) for your convenience, but you can customize your schedule.

When creating a custom schedule, you’ll be able to choose between the various available dates for each class in the certificate program. So if you can’t make a particular class, you can choose a different scheduled instance that works better for you. Please keep the following in mind when scheduling:

• If you do not have any prior experience with Adobe design apps, we recommend learning Photoshop before Illustrator.
• You must take Photoshop and Illustrator before taking the Graphic Design Portfolio Bootcamp (because you’ll be using those apps in the design bootcamp).
• You must take the Figma Bootcamp before the UI Design Portfolio Bootcamp (because you’ll be using that app in the design bootcamp).

All apps taught in this course work on both Mac and PC so you can use whichever you prefer.

Students must be comfortable using a computer. No other prior knowledge is required.

You may attend this training virtually (online) at the scheduled time the course is offered (New York, Eastern Time).

How does attending “live online” work?

• Students can attend this training remotely through screen sharing software (we use Zoom).
• Participants can hear the instruction, ask questions, and even share their screen with the instructor.
• For audio you can use your computer’s microphone/speakers or call a phone number that we’ll provide.
• Classes are activity-based and taught by a live instructor, so we strongly encourage students who are local to the area to attend in person!
• You will need your own computer and copy of any required software. If you don’t have the software, you can usually do a free trial or purchase your own license. If you need assistance, contact us at hello@nobledesktop.com

You have some options:

• You can watch a recording of the session. We will provide any course materials.
• If you can’t come into the classroom but can still attend remotely, we will provide you with the Zoom login information.
• You can use your free retake to make up any missed class time.
