Our instructor will show you how to prepare the wood, transfer the design, work with the different nibs to create the artwork, add lettering to enhance the piece, and use watercolor and colored pencils to finish your masterpiece.

We’ll begin by doing a series of exercises to get you familiar with the burner and nibs and the different marks they can make. Once you’re comfortable with the tools, we’ll start working on your chosen design and go over any troubleshooting that might arise. At the end, we’ll show you how to finish and care for your piece.

However, if you plan to take the course live online, you may need to obtain required software. We’ll help you get set up with a free trial of paid software prior to the class. Most of our coding classes utilize freely-available open-source software. For most of our design and motion graphics courses, we will help you get set up with a free trial of Adobe Creative Cloud. If you attend the course in-person, we will have a computer already set up for you with all of the required software for no additional cost.
