In this course, students develop the skills necessary to create clear and accurate detailed drawings for construction projects. Classes focus on both traditional 2D detailing methods and a hybrid approach, where 3D model views are enhanced with 2D annotations and embellishments to convey design intent.

Create Detail Drawings Illustrating Structural Integrity: Students will design detail drawings of building systems that demonstrate structural integrity and sound construction practices. These details will be used to convey the strength and safety of the building's design.
Develop Detail Drawings to Enhance Safety: Create and integrate detail drawings that help prevent accidental injury or death among building users. These drawings will focus on safety measures within the building's systems and construction.
Prepare Detail Drawings for Construction Systems: Prepare detail drawings that illustrate construction systems, products, and finishes. These details will highlight critical components and finishes of the building, ensuring accurate representation in the final documents.
Manage Detail Information with Industry Standards & Lineweight: You will develop details and manage the information to conform with project-based Lineweight and National CAD/BIM standards. This guarantees drawings are consistent, accurate, and meet the required standards for documentation.

This course has a prerequisite

BIM 101 - Introduction to Revit and BIM 201 - Intermediate Revit, or previous Revit experience is required before taking this course.
