Wild Code School provides a European community of more than 3,500 alumni, a huge asset for every graduate of the school’s programs. Graduates also access numerous job fairs and have mentors throughout the lifespan of their careers.

In 2014, Anna Stépanoff and Romain Coeur founded the first Wild Code School in France. The two founders developed the idea for Wild Code School during a hackathon event. Stépanoff and Coeur determined that creating bootcamps to teach people about web development would help solve a shortage of tech talent.

With campuses all around Europe, the school prides itself in not only teaching technical skills but also teaching students how to learn. This pedagogy prepares graduates to become self-sufficient as they continue developing their tech skills in a constantly changing landscape. In particular, Wild Code specializes in providing students with soft skills and technical skills around web development and data analytics.

School Locations

Wild Code has more than 20 schools all across Europe, including in London, Madrid, Amsterdam, and Brussels. Many of these campuses are located in France, including the cities of Bordeaux, Paris, and Marseille.

The courses available at each school differ depending on the specific campus. For example, the

Paris campus offers bootcamps in both Web Development and Data Analytics. The La Loupe campus only offers the Web Development Bootcamp. Wild Code also provides remote learning opportunities for its part-time programs.

What Classes Are Available?

Students can take classes about Web Development, Data Analytics, and Product Management while attending Wild Code. There is a full-time and part-time bootcamp option for both the Web Development and Data Analytics courses. Each of these bootcamps lasts for five months.

The full-time Web Development Bootcamp provides students with the technical skills required to become web developers. Students learn HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, and web frameworks like React, Node.js, PHP/Symfony, and Java/Angular. Graduates will come away from the program knowing how to design a web app, use an API, and integrate user interfaces. Students also have the opportunity to apply these skills to real-world client projects.

The Front End Development Bootcamp is part-time and remote. Students who enroll will learn how to design websites and front end web applications using CSS, HTML, and JavaScript. They will also learn the web frameworks of React and Node.JS. As with the Web Development bootcamp, students apply these skills to real-world projects.

Students can also enroll in a full-time Data Analysis bootcamp, which prepares them for careers as business analysts and data analysts. In this program, students learn how to model and present data, create dashboards and visualizations of data, and learn about machine learning, SQL, and Python. This occurs through a series of modules in which students learn about data collection, automating data processing, data modeling (using machine learning), and Tableau/Power BI.

In the part-time Business Intelligence and Data Visualization bootcamp, students learn how to use data visualization tools like Tableau and Power BI. They also learn the basics of SQL and Python and apply these skills to real-world projects.

Finally, the Product Management bootcamp is a five-month-long, part-time course that teaches students about product development. This allows graduates to improve their marketing and sales skills, technical product development skills, and ability to communicate customer issues with developers, designers, and marketers.

Wild Code also offers two free introductory courses to help prepare students for full-length bootcamps. These are called “Intro to Coding” and “Intro to Data Analytics.”

Class Formats

Wild Code offers both part-time and full-time bootcamps. The full-time bootcamps are hosted on-campus with blended learning (a combination of online and in-person learning) while part-time programs are fully remote. For part-time bootcamps, students have the flexibility to choose either weeknight or weekend training options. Wild Code does not provide details about class sizes on its website.

Admissions Process

Students who are interested in enrolling in a Wild Code bootcamp must apply through the school’s website. More specifically, students register online for the course they’re interested in taking. After that, Wild Code contacts students for an interview to determine whether there is a suitable fit. This interview also provides applicants with the opportunity to ask any questions they may have about the school.

Students are then asked to complete a tech challenge, including completing a presentation and sharing a conversation with an instructor. This helps Wild Code assess whether the applicant has baseline knowledge of technical skills required to succeed in the bootcamps.

Applicants must meet minimum age requirements to be accepted to the school. These requirements differ based on an applicant’s residence. In general, Wild Code seeks to enroll students who are collaborative, creative problem-solvers, and motivated to learn tech skills.

Pricing & Payment Options

The pricing for Wild Code School’s full-time courses (Web Development and Data Analytics) are 7000 euros. Part-time courses (Front End Development and Data Visualization) are each 4500 euros and the introductory courses are free.

Wild Code offers several financing options. Students who pay upfront receive a 5% to 10% discount. Alternatively, students can pay for the course in three installments. Wild Code School recommends applicants seek out one of their third-party lending partners for a loan if needed. The school does not mention any available scholarships on their website.

Career Support Services

The Wild Code School offers career support services, including conducting mock interviews and offering 1-on-1 career coaching. During this professional coaching, students can refine their CVs and resumes as they prepare to enter the workforce post-program.

Additionally, Wild Code hosts a networking event where partner companies come to the school and interview students for job opportunities. Some of these partner companies may also propose ideas for student projects and work with Wild Code to organize hackathons.

Wild Code provides a detailed 2021 Annual Job Placement Report. The average starting salary for graduates is 25,000 to 35,000 (euros) and there is an 84% job placement rate within a year of completing the bootcamp. Around 86% of those job placements are for permanent positions.

Graduates of Wild Code’s bootcamps work for a variety of companies, including Accenture, Adidas, and Capgemini. Approximately 31% of graduates go on to work at start-ups and 21% work at small and medium-sized enterprises.

Reviewers on Course Report give Wild Code’s bootcamps an average 4.9-star rating. Students discuss that in addition to learning technical skills, there is great employment coaching, especially 1-on-1 support. Reviewers also reference the great instructors, staff, and fellow students, stating things like “it’s really the people who are great” and that there is a “nice community” around Wild Code.

Despite being beginner-friendly, the bootcamp courses are difficult, with multiple reviewers mentioning the “intensive” nature of the bootcamp. One reviewer recommends that anyone who doesn’t have a background in coding should “take time to get your fundamentals down” before enrolling in a course.
