Founded in 2017, TrueCoders provides comprehensive online education for tech professionals in the central Alabama region. Formerly located in Birmingham, TrueCoders relocated to Hoover the following year under co-founder Daniel Walsh. Current President and Director of Software Development & Education Michael Doyle says the school teaches “fundamentals of software development through 1-on-1 instruction and real-world exercises.”

Coding is at the heart of becoming a software engineer or web developer, and TrueCoders focuses much attention on learning to code for a range of technical careers. Courses range from beginner to intermediate level, and graduates go on to careers as developers, engineers, and in other coding-centered positions.

All courses are hosted online via teleconferencing, and TrueCoders is proud of its virtual support and career services for alumni. From HTML/CSS to SQL, TrueCoders offers a variety of coding knowledge and experience both for beginners and for tech pros looking to level up to better positions.

School Locations

TrueCoders is conveniently located in the Riverchase Galleria in Hoover. All coursework is available virtually through teleconferencing, and students are encouraged to check listings for scheduling and any prerequisite information.

Subjects Taught at TrueCoders

TrueCoders provides bootcamps in web development and software engineering, offered at either the part-time or full-time level. Unlike many training schools, the TrueCoders community offers its Full Stack Software Engineering and Full Stack Web Development bootcamps in multiple tiers, as outlined below. What Classes Are Available?

The TrueCoders programs are available through either a full-time or flex-time schedule for your convenience. Both bootcamps are taught Monday through Friday from 9 am to 3 pm Central Time on a full-time basis over nine weeks. Students who enroll in either bootcamp on a flex schedule can take either program at their own pace, with the expectation that they will complete their coursework within six months or less.

The Full Stack Software Engineering Bootcamp provides comprehensive training in programming languages for complex design, implementation, and maintenance of computer programs. Students learn version control with Git, programming languages like C# and SQL, then HTML/CSS, JavaScript, and ASP.NET. The curriculum concludes with a final project design using practices learned throughout the program.

For web developers, the TrueCoders Full Stack Web Development Bootcamp delivers all the tools needed to write the code that powers web applications. Also open to beginners, this in-depth program begins with Git and HTML/CSS, then runs through JavaScript, React, SQL, Node, and Express. It also concludes with a project design based on full stack principles developed during the course.

TrueCoders’ separate Scrum Mastery Certificate program is also offered live online through teleconferencing, but only on a full-time basis. Class Formats

All TrueCoders classes are offered live online via teleconferencing. Students are encouraged to make sure they have a reliable internet connection as well as the following system specs:

At least 500 GB SSD
8 GB Memory (RAM)
Recent i5 or i7 CPU, or equivalent

New students are not required to have prior coding experience but will be equipped with an online prep course after enrollment. Materials are provided for the TrueCoders prep course, and students are encouraged to attend all sessions, which meet each Friday at 1 pm Central Time.

Admissions Process

The admissions process at TrueCoders is straightforward and inclusive, and they’ve made it easy to apply. No entrance exam is required. Simply visit the Enroll page and call or email to apply. Pricing & Payment Options

TrueCoders believes affordability is important, and many alumni emphasize that they appreciated the level of education and support they received for the cost.

The school offers three options for tuition payment. Students who make a one-time full payment for a bootcamp receive an impressive 35% discount when paying upfront. TrueCoders also has partnerships with two outside lending entities: one provides a deferred loan program, and the other is a tuition program that requires no payment until a bootcamp graduate gets hired.

Career Support Services

TrueCoders is proud of its mentoring and career support services, and many alumni comment on how impressed they were with the level of support they received both during their tenure and after graduation. The focus on practical knowledge and hands-on experience extends throughout the process. The career services team makes sure students learn job-seeking skills right along with their coding bootcamp skills. They offer unlimited 1-on-1 mentoring sessions and weekly career development meetings, as well as LinkedIn networking, resume optimization, and mock interview practice. TrueCoders is serious about ensuring that their alumni find relevant work upon graduation.
