This skill-based class offers an introduction to stone carving, where participants will learn the basics of the craft, from identifying and preparing the stone to mastering a range of chiseling techniques. Participants will have the chance to practice removing stone material using hand tools and chisels. Students will also gain insights into forming shape, texture, and shading effects on the stone.

This all-level course teaches the basics of stone carving, such as basic tools and techniques. Through guided instruction and hands-on practice, students can better understand and use tools for advanced carving, reliefs, intaglios, lettering, and more. Participants of this course also learn about the process of creating depth and dimension in stone.
