This big band music performance course helps participants in the Manhattan area develop or refine their skills in playing various instruments in an ensemble. Throughout the program, they will be equipped with music theory knowledge and performance for different registers and styles to become a well-rounded performer.

This jazz foundations course offers immersive instruction on the fundamentals of jazz music, such as ear training, improvisation, and jazz theory. Participants of all levels will gain techniques and tips to improve their jazz playing while exploring classic styles and progressions. Learn how to develop and use advanced jazz improvisation in your own performance in this course.

This small ensemble music course teaches participants the essential elements of collaboration, arrangement, and ensemble performance. With the help of experienced instructors, learners will be encouraged to explore improvisation and delve into more complex concepts like developing unique musical and rhythmic dialogues. This course helps participants become comfortable with an array of musical styles and genres.

This jazz music intensive introduces intermediate and advanced students to rhythm, harmony, and improvisation fundamentals. Participants will learn jazz standards, how to transcribe solos, and build soloing techniques over classic jazz progressions. Through individual and group instruction, learners can hone their performance skills, gain greater confidence in their playing, and develop a deeper appreciation for this dynamic musical genre.

This course will help singers expand their jazz vocabularies and vocal technique. Participants will learn to apply a jazz sound and mindset to their voices and music. They will also be introduced to jazz theory and history and ear training exercises.
